Skin & Hair Protocol FAQs
Here are the questions people most commonly ask before starting a skin and hair protocol. Anything not covered below is explored further on our full frequently asked questions page, and your GP can answer clinical questions specific to you during your consultation.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. The compounds used in skin and hair protocols are prescription-only medicines, supplied only after a registered Australian GP has reviewed your assessment and confirmed they are appropriate for you. There is no way to purchase a protocol without a valid prescription, and not everyone will be eligible. To understand why this regulated route matters, see our guide comparing GP-prescribed peptides and the grey market.
How long before a review?
Your GP will generally review your protocol at around 12 weeks, with earlier check-ins if your circumstances call for it. Skin and hair changes tend to develop gradually, so the review is an important point to assess how you are responding and whether any adjustment is appropriate. Our overview of how the process works walks through each step from assessment to ongoing care. Women considering hair-related concerns specifically may also find our article on hair loss treatment for women in Australia useful background.
What does it cost?
It's a single transparent once-off consult fee covering your telehealth GP consultation, with any prescribed medication billed separately at cost. You can review the full breakdown on our pricing page before deciding to proceed.
Is this protocol right for me, or another option?
Skin & Hair is one of several protocols. If your goals relate more to energy and recovery or healthy ageing, the Energy & Performance protocol or the Longevity protocol may suit you better. Compare them all on the protocols overview, and your GP will help confirm which pathway, if any, fits your profile.
Are peptides safe?
Peptides supplied through this service are prescription-only medicines dispensed by licensed Australian compounding pharmacies, and every protocol is medically supervised. Suitability depends on your individual health history, which is why a GP assessment always comes first.
