Skin & Hair Health Care FAQs

Here are the questions people most commonly ask before starting skin and hair health care. Anything not covered below is explored further on our full frequently asked questions page, and your GP can answer clinical questions specific to you during your consultation.

Will I be prescribed anything?
Not necessarily. Whether any treatment is appropriate is decided by the registered Australian GP you consult, after taking your history. Nothing is supplied without a valid prescription, and your doctor may recommend no medication at all. To understand why a doctor-led route matters, see our guide comparing doctor-led care and unregulated sources.

How long before a review?
Your GP will generally arrange a review at around 12 weeks, with earlier check-ins if your circumstances call for it. Skin and hair changes tend to develop gradually, so the review is an important point to assess how you are responding and whether any adjustment is appropriate. Our overview of how the process works walks through each step from booking to ongoing care. Women considering hair-related concerns specifically may also find our article on hair loss treatment for women in Australia useful background.

What does it cost?
It's a single transparent once-off consult fee covering your telehealth GP consultation. If your doctor prescribes treatment, the pharmacy quotes the exact cost before anything is dispensed, and there is no obligation to proceed. You can see the consultation fee on our pricing page before you book.

Is this the right area of care for me?
Skin & Hair Health is one of several areas of care. If your goals relate more to energy and recovery or healthy ageing, Energy & Performance Care or Healthy Ageing & Longevity Care may suit you better. See them all on the areas of care overview. Whichever you choose, the consultation is the same: your GP takes your history and works out what, if anything, is appropriate for you.

Is treatment safe?
Any medicine your doctor prescribes is a prescription-only medicine dispensed by a licensed Australian pharmacy, and your care is medically supervised throughout. Suitability depends on your individual health history, which is why the consultation always comes first. For a broader, plain-English explanation, read our article on what Australians should know before starting any treatment.
