About Peptide Therapy
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the building blocks of proteins. Certain peptides have been studied for their roles in areas such as body composition, skin health, energy, and recovery. Your GP will explain which peptides are relevant to your goals and why they're recommending a particular protocol.
No. Peptides are not anabolic steroids. They are distinct classes of compounds with different mechanisms, legal statuses, and risk profiles. All peptides prescribed through High Performance Human are selected and prescribed by a GP within TGA guidelines.
Yes. High Performance Human operates within Australia's Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth). All peptides prescribed through our service are sourced from TGA-licensed Australian compounding pharmacies. We comply fully — we don't cut corners, and we don't prescribe unapproved therapeutic goods.
The specific peptides your GP prescribes depend on your assessment, goals, and health profile. Your GP will explain what they're recommending, why, and what evidence supports its use. We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach — every protocol is personalised.
This depends on the protocol. Energy and recovery improvements are often noticed within 2–4 weeks. Weight management results typically emerge over 4–8 weeks, with protocols reviewed at the 12-week mark. Skin improvements typically appear at 6–10 weeks, and hair results usually take 3–4 months. Longevity protocols are long-term by design, with many patients reporting initial improvements in sleep, energy, and recovery within the first 4–6 weeks.
Safety & Clinical Oversight
Every protocol is prescribed by an AHPRA-registered Australian GP. Our GPs hold Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and have additional training in peptide therapy. You can read about our GP panel on the Meet the GPs page.
No referral is needed. You complete our online assessment, and a GP determines whether peptide therapy is appropriate for you based on your health profile and goals. If a GP determines it's not appropriate, there's no charge.
The assessment is not designed to screen you out — it's the clinical foundation your GP uses to build your protocol. It covers your health history, current medications, goals, and relevant medical information. This helps your GP prescribe safely and appropriately.
If your GP determines that peptide therapy is not appropriate based on your assessment, they will tell you and explain why. There is no charge for this assessment review. We will not prescribe if it's not clinically suitable.
Side effects vary depending on the specific peptides in your protocol. Your GP will discuss potential side effects, what to watch for, and when to contact them during your consultation. As with any prescription medication, if you experience an adverse reaction, you should contact your GP or seek medical attention.
The Process
The online assessment takes about 10 minutes. It covers your health history, current medications, goals, and relevant medical information. It's designed to give your GP the information they need to determine whether peptide therapy is appropriate for you and to personalise your protocol.
Most patients speak with a GP within 48 hours of completing their assessment. Your GP consultation can be conducted via video call or phone — your preference is noted on your assessment.
After your consultation, your GP will finalise your personalised peptide protocol. If a prescription is issued, we'll send you a secure payment link to confirm your order. Once payment is processed, your prescription goes to the pharmacy and your peptides are dispatched in discreet packaging.
All deliveries arrive in plain, unmarked boxes or satchels. No pharmacy branding is visible on the outer packaging. Deliveries can be sent to your home, workplace, or a PO Box — wherever is most convenient and discreet.
Your GP will determine whether any pathology or blood work is required based on your assessment and the specific peptides being considered. If blood work is needed, this would be at an additional cost and arranged separately through a local pathology provider. Your GP will discuss this with you during your consultation.
Yes. Your GP remains available throughout your program. If you have questions, experience side effects, or want to adjust your protocol, you can contact your GP directly. Ongoing clinical oversight is included in your program.
Pricing & Payments
Your protocol is built around your individual assessment. Peptide therapies aren't one-size-fits-all — your GP prescribes based on your goals, health history, and starting point. That's why we give you a price range, confirmed before you commit.
No. The price you see is the price you pay for your protocol, consultations, and delivery. We'll tell you exactly what's included before you start. No surprises on your statement.
Yes. You can pause, adjust, or discontinue your protocol at any time with a GP consultation. There are no lock-in contracts and no cancellation fees.
We're exploring flexible payment options. For now, protocols are billed monthly. If cost is a barrier, mention it during your consultation — your GP can discuss whether a more budget-friendly starting protocol is appropriate.
Additional pathology or blood work if required by your GP is not included in the protocol price. Any supplements or additional products outside your prescribed protocol are also not included. Your GP will tell you if any additional costs are likely before you commit.
